For most, The Outer Banks is a place of vibrant color, golden sunsets and rich green vegetation. But for me, a professional photographer who has photographed these shore lines for 30 years, this coastal landscape reveals itself profoundly in black and white. The Outer Banks, with its dramatic skies, expansive beaches and ever-changing ocean, provides the perfect canvas for this monochromatic art form.

As I set out to photograph along the beaches in Duck, NC, black and white is the art form I breathe to convey the true emotion and narrative of each family that I photograph.
